WAKEFIELD, MASS.-- Freshman forward Mike Radja (Yorkville, Ill.) of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was named Rookie of the Month for November, as announced by the Hockey East Association on Wednesday afternoon.
Radja, who earned the award for the first time in his Wildcat career, posted two goals and four assists for six points in eight games in the month. Radja earned a plus/minus rating of +5 in the month, which ranked third on the Wildcats roster. He notched a point in four of the eight games, which included two multi-point performances in November.
He is the only Wildcat rookie that has skated in all 13 games for UNH. He has registered nine points (3g, 6a) and a +8 plus/minus rating. Radja ranks sixth on the team in scoring and his plus/minus rating is third best on the 'Cats roster. Radja opened the month by setting up two UNH goals, including the third-period game-winner, in a 4-3 win over Boston University on Nov. 5th. He paced the Wildcat attack in the weekend series vs. Northeastern with a shorthanded goal in the first game and added two assists in the second to help UNH complete a weekend sweep.
The No. 7 ranked Wildcats (8-3-2, 5-1-1 HE) return to action on Friday, December 3rd against Clarkson University. Game time at the Whittemore Center is 7 p.m.
