UNH's Pietrasiak named Hockey East Co-Defensive Player of the Week

WAKEFIELD, Mass.- Sophomore goaltender Jeff Pietrasiak (Shrewsbury, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week by the Hockey East Association on Monday afternoon.

Pietrasiak registered a career-high 33 saves in his second career Hockey East start in the 1-1 tie at Providence on Friday, Jan. 9 at Schneider Arena. He stopped 12 shots in the first period and four in overtime to help UNH gain a valuable point in the Hockey East standings.

Pietrasiak, in four starts this season, owns a 3-0-1 record with a 1.68 GAA and a .929 save percentage.

The Wildcats (12-7-3, 6-3-3 HE) return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 13 vs. Dartmouth in the "Battle for the RiverStone". Game time at the Verizon Wireless Arena is 7 p.m.
