HAYDAR NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK

DURHAM, N.H. -Senior captain Darren Haydar (Milton, Ont.) of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was named Player of the Week by the Hockey East Association on Monday afternoon. This marks the second consecutive week he has won the award and last Monday he was named Hockey East Player of the Month for his efforts in November.

Haydar posted 3-3-6 on the weekend vs. Clarkson and St. Lawrence. Haydar has had at least one point in his last seven games and has tallied three or more points in his last four games. Haydar leads the nation in points scored with 13-20-33 and in points per game at 2.20.

The captain has scored three points or more in seven of UNH's 15 games. With his six-point weekend, Haydar moved into the seventh spot on UNH's all-time scoring list with 84-92-176 passing Cliff Cox at 175 points. His 33 points this year has moved him up 20 spots since the start of the season. The next former Wildcat Haydar would catch is Bob Gould in the No. 6 slot with 91-101-192.

UNH returns to action on Thursday, December 13 vs. Dartmouth College at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester. Game time is 7 p.m.
