HAYDAR NAMED PLAYER OF THE MONTH

DURHAM, N.H. -Senior captain Darren Haydar (Milton, Ont.) of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was named Player of the Month and Player of the week by the Hockey East Association on Monday afternoon.

Haydar posted 3-4-7 on the weekend vs. Boston College and Maine and tallied 7-10-17 in eight games in November. He scored the game-winner in overtime vs. BC to keep UNH in sole possession of first place in the league. In 13 games this year Haydar has amassed 10-17-27 and leads the nation in points scored and is second in points per game at 2.08.

Haydar recorded his 100th career Hockey East point with a primary assist on Colin Hemingway's first goal vs. Maine on Saturday, Dec. 1. On Friday night, Haydar tallied his third career hat trick vs. the Eagles. Haydar is currently 12th on UNH's all-time scoring list with 81-89-170 and needs only four points to crack the Top 10 on UNH's all-time scoring list.

UNH returns to action Friday, December 7 at Clarkson University at 7 p.m. UNH's next home game is Thursday, December 13 vs. Dartmouth College at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester. Game time is 7 p.m.
