CARON TO LEAVE UNH HOCKEY

DURHAM, N.H.-- University of New Hampshire head men's hockey coach Dick Umile has announced that freshman forward Ed Caron (Hudson, N.H.) has requested and has been granted his release from the University and the hockey program at semester's end.

In his freshman season, Caron played in 34 of UNH's 40 games and recorded six goals and seven assists for 13 points. Caron also registered 20 penalties for 51 minutes.

"Ed has been an outstanding student-athlete at UNH, both in the classroom and on the ice. We wish him continued success in the future," said Coach Umile.
