CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Ferg Myrick (Philadelphia, Pa.) has been named the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team's representative on the 2013 America East Fans' Choice Player of the Year ballot.
The league announced the nine candidates Tuesday afternoon. Voting for the award is open now and continues on the Facebook page of America East through Tuesday, March 5 at 12 p.m. This is the fifth consecutive year fans can voice their opinion on who is the best player in the conference.
Myrick leads the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game and also ranks second in rebounding with 6.4 boards per contest. Myrick, who ranks eighth overall in the America East in scoring, also paces the Wildcats with five double-doubles this season.
Myrick has reached double-digit scoring 20 times this season and has eclipsed the 20-point mark four times, including a career-high 24-point performance against Yale to help lead the 'Cats to victory.
In addition to standout senior campaign, Myrick is wrapping up a notable career as a member of the UNH men's basketball program. The Philadelphia native currently sits at 928 career points and ranks seventh all-time in blocks with 50 career rejections.
