Former UNH men’s basketball coach Jim Boylan named head coach of NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks

DURHAM, N.H. – Former University of New Hampshire men's basketball head coach Jim Boylan has been named head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks for the rest of the 2012-13 season, replacing Scott Skiles, who was let go on Tuesday.

Boylan, who replaced the late Gerry Friel at the start of the 1989-90 campaign, posted a 15-69 record during his three seasons as head coach at New Hampshire. Boylan led the Wildcats to a 7-21 record during the 1991-92 season.

Boylan, 57, has been an assistant coach with the Bucks for the last four seasons. This marks the second time Boylan has replaced Skiles as an interim head coach after he also took over for the Chicago Bulls midway through the 2007-08 season.
