UNH'S VETRANO NAMED AMERICA EAST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

BOSTON, MASS-- University of New Hampshire freshman point guard Chris Vetrano (Andover, Mass.) was recently named Co-America East Rookie of the Week for his outstanding efforts in UNH's 71-57 victory over Hartford on Feb. 17.

Vetrano poured in a career-high 19 points against the Hawks, and connected on 5-9 shots from behind the three-point arc. He also grabbed three rebounds and dished off four assists in the victory for the Wildcats.

This marked the third time this season that Vetrano has been named America East Rookie of the Week.

Vetrano is presently averaging 7.8 ppg. for UNH and leads the squad in three-pointers made (38) and in assists with 89 for an average of 3.6 apg.

Vetrano will return to action on Thursday evening when the team travels to play Northeastern. Game time is 7 p.m and the contest can be heard live on WTSN 1270 AM.
