DURHAM, N.H. - University of New Hampshire men's basketball team freshman forward Matt Kauderer (Rydal, Pa.) is among 16 players who will represent the United States at the 16th World Maccabiah Games in Israel this summer.
Kauderer, who played eight games for the 'Cats this season, started out strong in his UNH debut, posting 13 points and five rebounds in the season-opener vs. Army. Kauderer finished the season with 5.0 ppg. and 3.0 rpg.
The World Maccabiah Games, which are held every four years, bring together over 5,000 Jewish athletes from more than 50 nations. The Games are scheduled for July 16-26.
Team USA will consist of 12 players and four alternates, which includes three professionals. Kauderer, one of the 13 collegians on the squad, will serve as an alternate. Larry Shyatt, who recently completed his third season as head coach at Clemson University, will be the head coach of Team USA.
