DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire senior Austyn Fobes (Howell, N.J.) has been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) co-Gymnast of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Fobes, who previously was tabbed the EAGL Gymnast of the Week on Jan. 8, placed first in vault and all-around to power UNH to a tri-meet victory against Brown and Temple on Jan. 26 at Lundholm Gymnasium. The senior scored a 9.825 on vault, secured second place on uneven bars with a 9.850 and finished third on floor exercise with a 9.775. Her all-around mark of 39.175 highlighted the Wildcats' season-high score of 195.650.
The Howell, N.J., native is tied for third in EAGL with an AA average of 38.975, and her personal-best 39.425 from the Jan. 6 win against Rutgers is the league's best mark of the season.
The Wildcats (4-1, 2-0 EAGL) return to action when they take on George Washington and Yale in a tri-meet Sunday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m. in Lundholm Gym.
