UNH GYMNASTS PLACE THIRD IN TRI-MEET AT UTAH STATE

PROVO, UTAH--
The University of New Hampshire women's gymnastics team took on two of Utah's top gymnastics teams at Utah State University on Friday evening and placed third in the tri-meet with a team score of 190.90. Winning the meet was Brigham Young University (193.725), with the host school taking second overall, 192.425.
    The top performer of the evening for UNH was sophomore beam sensation Taryn LaFountain (Utica, N.Y.), who took top honors in the meet with a high score of 9.825.
    Junior Justine Turner (Salem, N.H.) continues her comeback from illness and injuries and led the Wildcats to tie for second in the vault competition with an impressive judgement of 9.775.
    Senior Fairen Plummer (Louisville, Ky.)continued to excell for UNH as a floor exercise specialist, posting a seventh place finish of 9.775.
    And on bars, sophomore Helena Diodati (Scarborough, Maine) led the way once again on bars with a fourth-place finish and a team-high score of 9.725 in her best event.
    The Wildcats will return to action next Sunday, Feb. 24 when UNH entertains EAGL rival Maryland. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m. in Lundholm Gymnasium and tickets are still available for purchase online at www.unhwildcats.com.
