DURHAM, N.H - Funeral Services for Katie Baldwin, a 20 year-old gymnast from the University of New Hampshire have recently been announced. Baldwin, who had suffered a pulmonary embolism on Monday, Oct. 30, had been in critical condition at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston before her death early Saturday morning (Nov. 4).
Visitation services will be held at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory; 1551 Kenneth Road in York, Pa.; 17404; on Wednesday, Nov. 8; from 6-9 p.m. For those who would like to send flowers, Katie loved Daisies.
The funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9, beginning at 1p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in York, Pa.
A scholarship has been established in her name. Donations may be sent to "Katie Baldwin Gymnastics Scholarship"; University of New Hampshire Foundation; Elliot Alumni Center; Edgewood Road; Durham, N.H.; 03824.
The UNH gymnastics team also has plans to recognize Katie's wonderful spirit and joy by presenting the "Katie Baldwin Expression Award" at every home gymnastics meet.
The Baldwin family, as well as the UNH team and coaching staff, would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this extremely difficult time.
