Beth Amelkovich named assistant coach of New Hampshire's women's gymnastics team

DURHAM, N.H. - Beth Amelkovich, formerly of the University of Michigan, will be joining the University of New Hampshire women's gymnastics staff with Head Coach Gail Goodspeed and Associate Head Coach Ed Datti. As a four-year letterwinner for the Wolverines, Amelkovich was awarded the Big Ten Conference Medal of Honor in 1999, as well as the NCAA Scholastic Student-Athlete Award, the GTE Academic All-American and numerous others.

As a volunteer assistant coach, Amelkovich learned office responsibilities as well as overall coaching experience. Amelkovich spent her summers as a Junior Staff Coach at the Beverly Plocki Gymnastics Camp, where she was an instructor for basic level gymnastics. Amelkovich also has experience as a Physical Education teacher at the high school level.

While at Michigan, Amelkovich became involved in the Michigan Peer Advisors Creating Trust (M-PACT) program. The program was designed to establish a safe and healthy environment for student-athletes facing challenges.

Amelkovich graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management and Communications, and also received her Physical Education Certification in January 2000. Amelkovich remained on the Dean's List from 1996 through her graduation year, 1999.
