DURHAM, N.H.Brooke Bercari (Bordentown, N.J.), a junior midfielder on the University of New Hampshire field hockey team, was named to the 2007 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Northeast Region First Team on Wednesday as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

Bercari, an America East All-Conference First Team selection earlier this month, started all 21 games for the Wildcats. Her statistics included four goals, including two game-winning tallies, and three assists for 11 points. Bercari ranked first on the team in shots (55) as well as tied for third in goals, assists and points. In addition to those numbers, Bercari proved invaluable to UNH as a lynchpin in the midfield in which her stickhandling and passing skills were critical to the Wildcats’ transition game.

As an All-Region Team honoree, Bercari is eligible for the Division I All-America teams that will be announced Nov. 19.

In 53 career games, Bercari has five goals and four assists for 14 points.

UNH advanced to the 2007 America East Championship tournament and ended the season with a 9-12 record, including a 6-2 mark at home.
