UNH's White honored as Player of the Week

BOSTON - Katie White (Glens Falls, N.Y.), a senior co-captain on the University of New Hampshire field hockey team, was named America East Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.

White gave the Wildcats a critical conference road victory (2-1) against Albany on Oct. 8 with a game-winning goal in overtime. It was her team-leading seventh goal of the season and also her second game-winning tally in 2005.

White also leads UNH in points with 16. She is currently ranked third in America East in goals and fifth in points. In 75 career games, White has amassed 39 goals and four assists for 82 points. Those numbers rank fourth on UNH's career goals list and sixth on the all-time points list.

New Hampshire (5-9 overall, 1-1 America East) returns to action Homecoming Weekend, Oct. 14 vs. Maine. Game time at Memorial Field is 3 p.m.
