UNH-Holy Cross Announce Four-Year Football Series (2016-19)

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire and the College of the Holy Cross announced Friday a four-year agreement to meet annually in college football from 2016-19. The longtime New England gridiron rivals will alternate home and away beginning with a Sept. 10, 2016, game at UNH's new football stadium.

The Wildcats lead the all-time series against the Crusaders, 7-6, which includes victories in the last two meetings. After a 27-year hiatus, UNH defeated Holy Cross, 39-32, at Cowell Stadium on Oct. 1, 2011; the 'Cats won the next year, 38-17, in the Thursday night season-opener at Fitton Field.

The UNH/Holy Cross rivalry dates back to Oct. 2, 1909, which was a 13-0 victory for the College.

The fourth-ranked Wildcats kick off the 2014 season Saturday, Aug. 30 (7 p.m.) at the University of Toledo of the Football Bowl Subdivision. The game will be telecast live from the Glass Bowl on ESPN3 and carried on the Wildcat Sports Radio Network. 

UNH plays host to Lehigh University in the home opener Saturday, Sept. 13, at 3:30 p.m. It will be Kids' Day/Welcome Back 'Cat Pack/Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Day at Cowell Stadium, and the game will be televised by the American Sports Network (ASN). (Tickets)
