TEMPE, Ariz. – Kyle Auffray (Cornwall, N.Y.), who played for the University of New Hampshire football team from 2008-10, has signed a free agent contract with the Arizona Cardinals, the NFL team announced Tuesday. Auffray participated in the Cardinals rookie mini-camp this past weekend on a tryout.
Auffray played 16 games as a tight end and punter for UNH after beginning his collegiate career at Mississippi State (2006-07) as a quarterback.
As a senior in 2010, Auffray made four receptions for 34 yards and scored his first career touchdown on a 12-yard reception against Towson in his final home game at Cowell Stadium (Nov. 20). The CAA Academic All-Conference Team member also served as the Wildcats' punter in all 13 games, averaging 37.7 yards/punt with a long of 67 yards.
