DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire athletic department has announced that Russ Francis, former New England Patriot and San Francisco 49er, will host his WTPL (107.7FM) weekly radio show from Cowell Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 9:00-11:30am as UNH faces Dartmouth in its home opener.
The schedule for the show will include an interview with UNH head coach Sean McDonnell at 9:06 a.m., followed by Dartmouth head coach Buddy Teevens at 10:06 and UNH athletic director Marty Scarano at 10:30 a.m.
Francis played 14 seasons in the National Football League, including eight years with New England as a tight end, and won a Super Bowl championship with the 49ers in 1984. Francis was a three-time Pro Bowl selection in 1976, 1977 and 1978.
Francis, a 1975 first round pick of the Patriots, hosts the weekly WTPL radio show each Saturday from 9:00am - noon in Concord. He also hosts the pre- and post-game Patriots radio show on ESPN Radio (890 and 1400 AM) from the Funway in Foxboro.
