The University of New Hampshire Athletic Department and the Manchester Wolves arenafootball2 professional team have partnered to present "UNH Football Night" at the Verizon Wireless Arena on July 14, 2006.
The Wolves will take on the WB/Scranton Pioneers at 7:00 PM. The game will feature former UNH Wildcat running back David Bailey ('05) and former defensive lineman Mike Wells ('02) for the Wolves, as well as former quarterback Mike Granieri ('05) for the Pioneers.
The Wildcats will hold a pre-game reception at Margarita's Mexican Restaurant at 1037 Elm Street in Manchester from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. All fans are welcome free of charge. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available. Guest speakers will include UNH Head Football Coach Sean McDonnell and other to be named coaches.
UNH and the Wolves debuted their first partnership during the 2005 season on November 12 at Cowell Stadium and plans are underway to host another event in Durham on October 28, 2006 when the 'Cats take on Hofstra during Family Weekend.
The two organizations are excited about the partnership and look forward to getting New Hampshire football fans invested in the two teams. UNH Associate Athletic Director for External Relations Dot Sheehan said, "It is particularly important to keep football in fans' minds year 'round, and this partnership allows both parties to do that. Plus UNH has alums playing for the Wolves and we certainly want to support them."
The night will feature halftime honors for the 2005 Wildcat Football team, giveaways, a UNH jersey raffle, an appearance by Wild E. Cat, and much more. Tickets are available for $10 and $20 at www.unhwildcats.com (Click here to purchase tickets).
