UNH FOOTBALL FALLS TO NORTHEASTERN, 34-11

BROOKLINE, Mass. - L.J. McKanas rushed for 193 yards and three touchdowns Saturday to lead Northeastern to a 34-11 win over New Hampshire.

McKanas scored on two 1-yard runs and a 75-yard run to break the school's single-season rushing record. He has 1,437 yards this season.

New Hampshire (4-6, 2-6 Atlantic 10) was thwarted by five interceptions and trailed 34-3 until Ryan Day scored on a 10-yard run with 6:32 left in the fourth quarter.

Leading 13-3 at halftime, Northeastern (4-5, 3-4) broke the game open by scoring three touchdowns in less than three minutes in the third quarter. The Huskies sandwiched scoring runs of 1 and 75 yards by McKanas around a 4-yard score by Shawn Brady.

Brady completed of 8 of 15 passes for 138 yards, including a 19-yard scoring pass to Michael Mack with four minutes left in the first half.

Stephan Lewis led UNH, as he rushed for 129 yards on 24 carries and caught five passes for 34 yards. Day completed 14 of 37 passes for 156 yards.
