DURHAM, N.H.-The University of New Hampshire football team has added Paul McKinney (Philadelphia, Pa.) to its list of players who have signed letters of intent to play football at the University. The announcement was made today by third-year head football coach Sean McDonnell. With the addition of McKinney, the Wildcats have a grand total of 16 recruits in its 2001 freshman class.
McKinney, a 5-10, 202-pound running back/defensive back had a tremendous senior season at the Haverford School. McKinney, who played in 10 games, carried the football for 1,755 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also put together an incredible effort vs. Chestnut Hill Academy, as he rushed for 308 yards and five touchdowns in the contest. He has outstanding speed (a 4.5 in the 40) and also is a threat to catch the football out of the backfield. Looking at his career statistics, McKinney is the all-time leading rusher and scorer at the Haverford School. His overall rushing total was 3,682 yards. A two-sport athlete, McKinney also ran in the 100, 200 and 4x100 relay for the track team.
