UNH CHEER TAKES FIRST PLACE IN CHALLENGE CUP AT NCA NATIONALS COMPETITION
DAYTONA BEACH, F.L. - The University of New
Hampshire cheerleading team finished in 1st place in the 2008 NCA
National Cheerleading Challenge Cup Competition on Friday. The team
scored an 8.3 overall for their performance which put them in the
top spot by a slim margin over second-place finisher Quinnipiac
University. Other teams in the Challenge Cup round of the
competition included the University of Illinois, the University of
Florida, Michigan State University, the University of Pittsburgh,
Penn State, and Bowling Green State University.
UNH advances to the finals as the 9th placed team and will compete against 2007 national champions the University of Maryland. Other teams competing in the finals include the University of Louisville, Rutgers University, The University of South Carolina, Kennesaw State University, North Carolina State University, Ohio State University, and the University of Massachusetts.
The Wildcats compete at 5:00 p.m. on Friday at the Band Shell on Daytona Beach.
