Gymnastics Registers 196.050 in Dual-Meet Victory over Air Force

DURHAM, N.H. - Danielle Mulligan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) earned a victory on the uneven bars for the seventh consecutive meet, scoring a 9.850, as the 24th-ranked University of New Hampshire Gymnastics improved to 12-3 with a 196.050 to 193.125 victory over the Air Force Academy.
The Wildcats earned every tenth that they got, as every routine's score was properly deserved, according to Head Coach Gail Goodspeed. The squad continues to impress her every single day, as the team reached its goal of hitting 24 out of 24 routines. After celebrating the victory, the gymnasts will travel to Maryland for a quad meet on Wednesday, March 1st (7 pm).

HIGHLIGHTS
New Hampshire began the night on the vault, where Toci scored a 9.800 to lead the team with a first place finish. Nicole O'Leary (Newtown, Conn.) and Meghan Pflieger (Barneveld, N.Y.) were other top performers, each recording a 9.775 and earning a share of second place. The 'Cats totaled a 48.800 in the event, outscoring the Falcons, who earned a 48.150
The Wildcats then moved to the bars, where Mulligan won the individual competition for the seventh consecutive meet. The sophomore recorded a 9.850 for the victory. Danielle Doolin (Medford Lakes, N.J.) and Ava Watkins (Cherry Hill, N.J.) also performed strongly, both totaling career high-tying scores of 9.775 to share second place. As a team, UNH edged the Air Force on the bars, 48.900 to 48.600.
On the beam, Lauter led the team with a season-high 9.900 to earn the individual victory. Also performing well for the 'Cats, Pflieger matched her season high of 9.875 for the third week in a row to earn second place. New Hampshire totaled a 49.125 as a team, defeating the Falcons, who scored a 47.750.
In the final event of the night, Calandra set a new personal best of 9.875 to achieve the individual victory on the floor. Lia Breeden (York, Pa.), Pflieger, and Doolin shared second place registering scores of 9.850. As a team, UNH totaled its second-highest floor score of the season to edge the Air Force, 49.225 to 48.625.

New Hampshire will travel to College Park, Maryland for a unique Wednesday night quad-meet that also includes Temple University and West Chester University of Pennsylvania (March 1 at 7pm). The 'Cats will then return home to host Brown University and Yale University on Pride Night/Faculty & Staff Appreciation Night (Sunday, March 5 at 1pm).

- The Wildcats have now defeated 26 straight opponents at Lundholm Gym in a streak that dates back to March 8, 2014. UNH is 5-0 this season at home with wins against Pittsburgh, Southern Connecticut State, Utah State, Temple, and the Air Force.
- New Hampshire achieved individual victories in all four of the events. Toci won on the vault, Mulligan on the bars, Lauter on the beam, and Calandra on the floor.
- The 'Cats totaled 11 scores of 9.800 or better across all four events.
