UNH 2, UMass 1 (OT)
- UNH scored the game-winning goal on a penalty corner. Aggie Sutherland (Dauphin, Pa.) inserted the ball to the top of the circle for Nerbonne, whose bounding shot went over goalkeeper Emily Hazard into the cage.
- An outstanding individual effort by Nerbonne tied the score, 1-1, with 6:58 remaining in regulation. She stole the ball inside the 25 and charged the cage from the top-left of the circle to create a 1-v-1 rush before scoring on a close-range shot.
- UMass broke the scoreless tie at 56:40 when Nicole Miller, the shortest player on the field at 4-foot-11, corralled a loose ball in the middle of the circle, turned a fired a shot inside the left post.
- In her first career start, sophomore Kelsey Rudert (North Grafton, Mass.) made seven saves – six in the second half – to earn her first career victory.
- Hazard also finished with seven saves, four in the second half.
- The Wildcats recorded a 6-2 shot advantage in the first half and a 10-8 margin in the second half. The 'Cats scored on the only shot of the extra session.
- UNH also had a sizable edge in penalty corners at 7-2 overall, including 4-0 in the opening 35 minutes.
- With both of its stick-stops on the bench in the 54th minute, UNH executed a short corner to generate one of its best scoring chances in the game. Sutherland inserted to Jackie Hozza (Sinking Spring, Md.), who blasted a low shot toward the right post. Taylor Scafidi (Waltham, Mass.) was in position for a redirection, but the ball sailed high and wide of the near post, however, to keep the game scoreless.
- UNH has won three straight, five of the last six and 8 of 11 vs. UMass dating back to the 2001 season. Six of the last seven matchups have gone into OT.
