DURHAM, N.H. – Former University of New Hampshire women's basketball standout Elizabeth Belanger ('16) signed a one-year contract with the OTB Titans based in Osnabrück, Germany.
"We are all so excited and proud of Elizabeth," said Wildcats head coach Maureen Magarity. "She is one of the hardest workers I have ever coached and no one deserves this more than her. We can't wait to follow her continued success!"
Belanger, an all-time great at UNH, finished her career with 1,453 points and 703 rebounds. She ranks fifth all-time in scoring, seventh in rebounding, and is one of only three Wildcats to eclipse 1,400 points and 700 rebounds. During her senior year the 5-foot-10 guard led the team in scoring (17.1 ppg), rebounding (7.0 rpg), minutes played (35.6 mpg), free throw percentage (.849), and steals (42). She recorded six double-doubles and 25 double-digit scoring games en route to being named to the America East All-Conference First Team for the second consecutive year.
During her Wildcat career, Belanger was also named to the America East All-Rookie Team (2013) and America East All-Conference Second Team (2014). She scored a career-high 32 points twice in the span of three games during her senior year and pulled down a career-high 13 boards against Penn (Nov. 15).
"I'm really excited about this opportunity to play professionally in Germany," Belanger said. "It's always been a dream of mine since I picked up a basketball. I'm thankful for the opportunity to continue playing the sport I love while exploring Europe."
She joins the OTB Titans who finished first in the Regionalliga North last year with a 12-4 record.
Belanger graduated in May 2016 with a degree in Kinesiology with an option in Sports Studies.
