UNH Leads Way in America East 2015-16 Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll

League-High 68.6% of Wildcats Make the Grade
BOSTON – The University of the New Hampshire had a total of 140 student-athletes named to the America East 2015-16 Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll, the league announced Thursday afternoon. UNH led all nine member institutions in highest percentage of student-athletes represented at 68.63%.
WINTER / SPRING ACADEMIC HIGHLIGHTS
New Hampshire's women's lacrosse team boasts 82.7% representation on the Academic Honor Roll with 24 of its 29 student-athletes making the grade; 10 earned a spot on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
The UNH women's outdoor track & field team, which finished as runner-up at the America East Championship, placed 48 of 65 student-athletes on the America East Academic Honor Roll with 32 receiving distinction on the Commissioner's Honor Roll. That calculates to 73.8% of the team on the Academic Honor Roll with nearly half (49.2%) on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
The women's indoor track & field team, which also placed second at the conference meet, had respective numbers of 47 and 32 on the Academic Honor Roll and Commissioner's Honor Roll.
UNH's men's track & field teams also posted impressive totals. Seventy percent (42 of 60) of the indoor squad made the Academic Honor Roll with 17 student-athletes on the Commissioner's Honor Roll. The outdoor team had similar numbers of 40 and 17, respectively.
Thirteen of the 19 members on the women's swimming and diving team earned a spot on the Honor Roll and five received distinction on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
The women's basketball team placed 8 of 14 student-athletes on the Honor Roll, and three of those players were on the Commissioner's Honor Roll. One of UNH's five men's basketball team players on the Honor Roll made the Commissioner's Honor Roll.

UNH won the America East Academic Cup for the second consecutive year.
New Hampshire recorded the highest number of representatives on the America East Fall Academic Honor Roll for the seventh consecutive year.
Laura Rose Donegan (Melbourne, Australia) was named the 2015-16 America East Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Earlier in the year, she was feted as both the Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete and Women's Outdoor Track Scholar-Athlete.
THE OVERALL WINTER/SPRING NUMBERS
Including UNH's 140 representatives, a total of 1,414 student-athletes (64.83%) made the America East 2015-16 Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll.
A total of 71 Wildcats (34.80%) made the Commissioner's Honor Roll. The conference total of 741 represented 33.98% of all winter/spring student-athletes.
Student-athletes had to earn a grade-point-average of 3.0 or higher in the spring semester to be named to the Honor Roll and those with a GPA of 3.5 or higher earned Commissioner's Honor Roll status.
