Ashley Storey Grabs Second America East Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week Award

DURHAM, N.H. – Freshman Ashley Storey (Cumberland, Maine) was named the America East Rookie of the Week for the second time in three weeks on Monday, after helping the Wildcats earn two wins last week.
On Wednesday, Storey notched a career-high nine rebounds and recorded four points en route to the Wildcats' 63-55 victory over UMass Lowell. She also tallied a block, giving her 18 on the season. She ranks second only to teammate Carlie Pogue (Cincinnati, Ohio) who has 19 this year.
In the team's 53-42 victory over Hartford on Saturday, Storey shot lights out for the Wildcats, making 6 of her 7 field goal attempts. She scored a team-high 14 points and grabbed five boards in her 32 minutes of play.
Storey earned her first Rookie of the Week award on Feb. 8 after scoring a career-high 22 points against Binghamton on 10 of 12 shooting. She is the only Wildcat so far this season to earn either Player of the Week or Rookie of the Week honors.

Averaging 5.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, Storey is making 48.8 percent of her field goals to lead the Wildcats in that category. She also averages 20.2 minutes per game and has started every contest since Jan. 2 against Yale. Her 18 blocks rank ninth in the conference.
