Purrier’s Record Run Leads ’Cats to 4th Straight League Title

BALTIMORE, Md. – Junior Elinor Purrier (Montgomery, Vt.) raced to an America East Championship meet record time to lead the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team to a fourth straight title at the Jerusalem Mills Park course in Baltimore, Md., on Saturday morning.
Purrier covered the 5K course in 16 minutes, 27.1 seconds for her second America East triumph. Purrier also won the race in 2014 as a sophomore. She sat out last season as a redshirt.
UNH placed six runners among the top 17 runners in the event.
The Wildcats collected 45 points to win the race, two points better than Stony Brook's 47.
Freshman Meg Champagne (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) finished sixth in 17:32.3, senior Hannah Kimball (Atkinson, N.H.) was ninth in 17:43.1, freshman Melissa Menghini (Fenton, Mo.) was 13th in 17:54.5. Senior Sarah Keiran (Rowley, Mass.) was 16th in 18:04.7 and Riley Gilmore (Haverhill, Mass.) was 17th in 18:05.4.
