No. 15 Gymnastics Registers 193.275 in Pittsburgh Dual Meet

PITTSBURGH – Danielle Doolin (Medford, N.J.) registered the top mark for UNH on the floor exercise (9.850) for the third meet in a row, and finished second overall in the all-around championship (38.825) in the 15th-ranked University of New Hampshire gymnastics team's 193.550-193.275 loss to University of Pittsburgh on Saturday night at Fitzgerald Field House.
The Wildcats swept the top four scores on balance beam for the second straight week, but fell to 2-3 on the season. With the victory, Pittsburgh improved to 2-5 on the year.
UNH returns home Sunday, Feb. 7, for the annual Wildcat Invitational quad-meet (1 p.m.) against the University of Bridgeport, Brown University and Towson University. Fans displaying their gym membership cards will receive a special ticket rate for the Fitness Day meet at Lundholm Gym. Tickets are available HERE or by calling 603-862-4000, extension 5.
Doolin began with a 9.650 on uneven bars and a 9.600 on vault (T-6th), but improved as the night went on. The freshman recorded a 9.850 on the floor (T-2nd), and closed with a 9.725 on beam (T-5th).
The Wildcats outscored the Panthers on vault (48.225-47.750) and beam (49.200-48.225), but were defeated on the uneven bars (48.725-47.925) and the floor (48.850-47.925).
Jennifer King (Freehold, N.J.) registered a career high on uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.825. The junior placed first overall in the event. Jess Gracia (Bahama, N.C.) finished tied for third with a score of 9.750.
Elizabeth Mahoney (Hanson, Mass.) achieved New Hampshire's top score on vault, the team's second event of the night. She scored a 9.725, finishing second overall. Mahoney has attained the top mark in the event for the Wildcats in each of the four meets this season. Sophomore Marissa Toci (Mount Laurel, N.J.) and freshman Nicole O'Leary (Newtown, Conn.) registered a 9.675 on vault, each earning a share of third place.

The Wildcats finished strongly on beam yet again, where they recorded the top four performances for the second meet in a row, headlined by Kelsey Aucoin (Double Oak, Texas) and Casey Lauter (Northport, N.Y.), who each scored a 9.925 for a share of first place. Pflieger placed third with a 9.850, followed by Lia Breeden (York, Pa) with a 9.775.
The Wildcats will finish up their three-meet road trip with the Don Tonry Bulldog Invitational quad at Yale on Jan. 30 (w/ Bridgeport, Southern Connecticut State).
