BOSTON – Seniors John Prizzi (Wyckoff, N.J.) and Anne Twombly (Exeter, N.H.) of the University of New Hampshire men’s and women’s track and field teams have been named nominees for the America East Man and Woman of the Year.

55 UNH Student-Athletes Inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society
DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire and the National College Athlete Honor Society, Chi Alpha Sigma, announced Monday that 55 student-athletes were inducted into the honor society. The ceremony was held at the Watkins Center for Student-Athlete Excellence at the UNH fieldhouse.

Ribbon Cutting Held for Watkins Center for Student-Athlete Excellence
DURHAM, N.H. – UNH held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday to formally open the Watkins Center for Student-Athlete Excellence at the UNH Field House. The opening of the $1.9 million dollar academic center included a reception attended by the dignitaries and partners that made the privately funded project possible, along with the student-athletes who will benefit from the facility.

CAMRIDGE, Mass. – Senior co-captain Anne Twombly (Exeter, N.H.) of the University of New Hampshire women’s cross country squad earned the inaugural America East Conference Elite 18 Award, honoring student-athletes who exemplify excellence both in their sport and in the classroom. The awards were presented at the conclusion of the league's six fall championships.

ORONO, Maine - The University of New Hampshire women's cross country team took a first place (26 points) at the America East Championships Saturday morning on the campus of Maine to claim their second title in back-to-back years. The race consisted of 86 runners.

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The University of New Hampshire women’s cross country team placed 12th (324 points) in the 3k race at the Central Connecticut State University Mini Meet Friday afternoon at Stanley Park. The race consisted of 20 institutions and 121 runners.

The Wildcats kick off the season with the only home meet of the year against Providence College on Aug. 30 (women – 11 a.m., men 11:45 a.m.).
