Gymnastics Takes Part in JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire gymnastics team participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Walk to Cure Diabetes on Sunday, September 29.

A fun-filled charity walk held in locations across the world, the walk raises funds and awareness for people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). Money raised for the JDRF is the largest nongovernmental funder for T1D research.

The gymnastics squad raised over $500 by walking three miles Sunday afternoon. Overall, the event raised nearly $60,000. Since 1992, the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes has raised more than $1 billion for T1D research.
