DURHAM, N.H. - University of New Hampshire head women's basketball coach Sue Johnson announced today the hiring of Lindsay Gottleib as assistant women's basketball coach. Gottleib fills the vacancy created by the departure of Leslie Cooper after the 2000-01 season.

BOSTON - For the second-straight season, the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team is seeded sixth in the America East women's basketball championship to be held March 7-10 at Patrick Gymnasium in Burlington, Vt. The spot earns the Wildcats a first-round bye and they will face third-seeded Vermont on Thursday, March 8 at 8 p.m.




BURLINGTON, Vt. - Junior Anna Matthias (Guilford, Conn.) had 19 points, 13 in the first half, but it wasn't enough as the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team fell to Vermont 70-60 at Patrick Gymnasium this evening. UNH Closes out the regular season at 10-17 overall and 8-10 in America East, while the Catamounts finish at 17-10 and 13-5.




DURHAM, N.H. - Senior Kelly Donohue's (Rochester, N.H.) putback with one second remaining lifted the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team to a 54-52 win over Boston University at Lundholm Gym this afternoon. New Hampshire has won three-straight and improves to 10-16 overall and 8-9 in the league. BU is now 8-18 and 5-12 in the league.

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - Junior Anna Matthias (Guilford, Conn.) recorded a double-double by pouring in 25 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to lead the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team to a 76-64 win over Hofstra here at Hofstra Arena this afternoon. The 25 points matches Matthias' career high which she set earlier in the season against Dartmouth.




PHILADELPHIA - Despite having three players reach double-figures in scoring, the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team fell to Drexel 89-69 here at the Daskalakis Athletic Center here this evening. The Dragons improve to 15-9 overall and 10-5 in America East, while UNH is now 7-16 overall and 5-9 in the conference.




ORONO, MAINE — Sophomore guard Ellen Geraghty scored a career-high 16 points to lead the University of Maine to a 69-42 win over the University of New Hampshire in America East women's basketball action Sunday afternoon at Alfond Arena in Orono, Maine.

The signees are Lindsay Adams, a 5-11 guard from Theresa, N.Y. who attends Indian River Central School, Geneva Livingston, a 5-9 guard from Red Bank, N.J. who attends Red Bank Regional, and Jenn Piazza, a 5-8 guard from Hamden, Conn. who is currently attending Lyman Hall High School. All three will suit up for the Wildcats starting with the 2001-02 season.
