DURHAM, N.H. - Sue Johnson, head coach of the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team, announced Friday that Colleen Mullen will join the program for the 2000-01 season. Mullen, a Chelmsford, Mass. resident and graduate of Chelmsford High School, is transferring to UNH from the University of Rhode Island.




DURHAM, N.H. - Sue Johnson, head coach of the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team, announced Thursday that Leslie Cooper will join her staff as an assistant coach effective in early July. Cooper fills the vacancy created by the departure of Kerry Poliquin, a five-year assistant coach at UNH.




DURHAM, N.H. — Orsi Farkas (Budapest, Hungary), a senior center at the University of New Hampshire, competed for a roster spot in the WNBA at the Detroit Shock Free Agent Camp from April 28-29. She was one of just 30 players invited to the camp and was evaluated as one of the top three prospects. The Shock invited just the top player back to its preseason camp, however.




DURHAM, N.H. — Orsi Farkas (Budapest, Hungary), a senior center at the University of New Hampshire, was recently named a recipient of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship for part-time or full-time postgraduate study at the university or professional school of her choice. Farkas, who is one of just six Division I recipients in the nation, plans to pursue a master's degree in public policy at Princeton University.

DURHAM, N.H. — Orsi Farkas (Budapest, Hungary), a senior center on the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team, was named the America East Player of the Week on Jan. 31. Farkas recorded double-doubles in both UNH victories last week and averaged 26.5 points per game and 13.0 rebounds per game. Other impressive numbers included her .710 field goal percentage (22 of 31) and her 9-for-11 (81.8%) effort at the foul line. Farkas also earned Player of the Week honors from the league on Dec. 6.
