Men's Track & Field's Prizzi Runs 3,000 Steeplechase at NCAA East Regional
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sophomore middle distance runner John Prizzi (Wycoff, N.J.) of the University of New Hampshire men's track and field team competed in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the NCAA East Regionals on Friday night.
Prizzi ran to a 27th-place result out of the 48 runners that competed in the event. He clocked in with a time of 9:04.42 in the event. Prizzi took the title of tops in the event at the 2013 America East Track and Field Championships and also took gold in the event in the Wolfie Invitational, held at Stony Brook University. At the invite, he ran to a time of 9:28.90, but improved upon his time at the conference championships when he ran to a 9:12.24 mark.
The second-year student-athlete set his top time in the event at the NEICAAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, cracking the nine-minute barrier with a time of 8:59.99
