Greene Captures 1,000m at Terrier Invitational


BOSTON – Junior Kevin Greene (Silver Spring, Md.) captured an individual title in the 1,000-meter run as three members of the University of New Hampshire men's indoor track & field team competed at the Boston University Terrier Invitational Saturday afternoon at the Track & Tennis Center.

Greene topped a field 64 runners in the 1,000 meters with an IC4A-qualifying time of 2:25.99. One day earlier, Greene helped UNH to a second-place finish at the Joe Donahue Games as he won the mile in an IC4A-qualifying time of 4:12.75. This marks Greene's third victory in as many races as he also won the 800 meters last week against Holy Cross.

Also in action, sophomore Dean Bhatt (Woodbridge, Conn.) finished 29th in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:31.90. Senior Cory Sinotte (Manchester, N.H.) took 50th in the mile as he crossed the finish line in a time of 4:17.42.

The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, Feb. 2 when they participate in the URI Invitational at noon.
