UNH HOCKEY PICKED FOURTH IN HOCKEY EAST COACHES POLL

BOSTON -- The University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was picked fourth by the coaches of Hockey East, the announcement was made at the annual Hockey East media day Monday at the FleetCenter in Legends Restaurant.

Providence College was picked as the preseason favorite, but for the first time in history the favorite did not receive a first place vote. The four teams that received first place votes were as follows: Maine (4), Boston College (3), UNH (1) and Boston University (1).

UNH plays an exhibition vs. the University of Ottawa on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Whittemore Center. The Wildcats open their season Saturday, Oct. 13 vs. the University of Vermont at the Whittemore Center at 7 p.m.
