CONKLIN NAMED DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

DURHAM, N.H. -Senior goaltender Ty Conklin (Anchorage, Alaska) of the University of New Hampshire men's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week for the sixth time this season, a new Hockey East record.

Conklin stopped 43 of 45 shots this past weekend vs. UMass, including a 3-0 shutout on Saturday night at the Mullins Center. Conklin broke four Hockey East records and one UNH record at the conclusion of the UMass game on Saturday night.

The Wildcats are currently 20-10-6 overall and finished the conference season at 11-8-5. UNH returns to action on Thursday, March 8 vs. UMass-Lowell in best of three Hockey East quarterfinal series. Game time is 7 p.m. at the Whittemore Center.
