Service Credit Union Student-Athletes Of The Week: Sally Rainey & Charles Briscoe III

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Charles Briscoe III (Bowie, Md.) of the University of New Hampshire football team and Sally Rainey (West Lebanon, N.H.) of the UNH women's soccer team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Oct. 2.
Sally Rainey, a redshirt sophomore goalkeeper who has started all 11 games this season, went 1-0-1 last week with a 0.50 GAA, .923 save percentage and one shutout.
Rainey recorded her fifth clean sheet of the season with a seven-save effort in a 0-0 tie against UMass Lowell on Sept. 28. She made five saves in UNH's 2-1 win at UAlbany on Sunday, Oct. 1.
Rainey and the Wildcats return to action this Thursday, Oct. 12, when they face off against the Vermont Catamounts at UVM's Virtue Field.

Charles Briscoe III was named the CAA Special Teams Player of the Week on Oct. 2; he was also selected FedEx Ground National Special Teams Player of the Week. Briscoe III blocked two punts, recovering one for a touchdown, and forced a fumble in New Hampshire's 54-51 loss to Towson.
The senior blocked a punt in the third quarter, leading to a go-ahead Wildcats' TD to make it 34-30. In the fourth quarter, Briscoe blocked another punt and recovered it in the end zone to give UNH a 48-38 lead. Briscoe also forced a fumble on the opening kickoff of the second half.
The 2-3 Wildcats take on UAlbany (3-2) on Saturday, Oct. 14 in Durham for the annual Homecoming game.
