NEW BRITAIN, Conn. -- Freshman Amanda Szymanski (Londonderry, N.H.) of the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team finished sixth overall to lead the Wildcats to a fourth-place finish at the Central Connecticut State University Mini Meet Friday afternoon.
The Granite State native crossed the finish line with a time of 10:18 while classmate and fellow New Hampshire native Hannah Kimball (Atkinson, N.H.) finished 12th with a 10:23 result. Junior Brittany Hunt (Lynnfield, Mass.) cracked the top-30 as she placed 29th. Hunt concluded the event with a time of 10:38.
Senior Julia Credendino (Islip, N.Y.) finished the race in 37th as she broke the plane with a time of 10:43. Sophomore Cassie Kruse (Hampshire, Ill.) ran the course to a time of 10:50 as she finished 45th. Classmates Alex Giese (Franklin, Mass.) and McKenzie Haney (Penacook, N.H.) finished in tandem in 55th and 56th place with times of 10:58 and 11:01, respectively.
The Wildcats will travel to Binghamton University on Saturday, Nov. 2 for the America East Championships. The race starts at 10 a.m.
