Serrano Takes First Place as Women’s Cross Country Tops Maine
ORONO, Maine – Junior Chelsey Serrano (Manchester, N.H.) took first place overall as the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team placed first at Maine Friday afternoon. Serrano finished with a time of 17:51.2.
Freshman Sarah Keiran (Boston, Mass.) finished in second place as she ran the 5K course in a time of 18:05 while sophomore Amber Short (Keene, N.H.) took the bronzewith a time of 18:07. Freshman Hannah Kimball (Lawrence, Mass.) finished two seconds after short at 18:09.
Amanda Szymanski (Londonderry, N.H.) rounded out the top-five UNH finishers as she came in sixth place to a time of 18:24.
The Wildcats return to action Friday, Sept. 27 as they travel to Franklin Park, Mass. for the Boston College Invitational. The race begins at 3:30 p.m.
