TASMANIA, Australia – Sophomore runner Laura Rose Donegan (Melbourne, Australia) of the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team ran to a sixth-place finish as she competed at the Australian Cross Country Championships on Aug. 31. She came in with a time of 29:55 in the 8K course. As a result of the strong performance, she is now the reigning U-23 Australian National Champion.
"The whole cross country and track staff is very excited about Rosie's performance at the Australian National Championship," said head women's coach Robert Hoppler. "She has worked very hard to achieve her goal of U-23 Australian National Champion and we are excited for her future."
As a freshman in 2012, Donegan finished as an all-conference America East runner with her 10th place finish at the America East Championships. She was also conference and New England runner-up in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in outdoor track.
