CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After a solid performance at the Paul Short Invitational, freshman Laura Rose Donegan (Melbourne, Australia) of the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team was named the America East Performer of the Week, announced by league Tuesday afternoon.
Donegan continued her impressive first season for New Hampshire with a strong performance in the women's 6k race, registering a 25th place finish with a time of 21:00. Donegan, having already placed second at the America East Pre-Conference meet, has established herself as one of the top female runners in the conference after outpacing more than 300 participants on Friday. Her outstanding race helped New Hampshire to a ninth place finish in a field of 40. The Wildcats were also the top America East school on the women's side.
The Wildcats return to action on Sunday, Oct. 7 when they take part in the New England Championships at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass.
