Volleyball Competes at the URI Invitational

KINGSTON, R.I. -- The University of New Hampshire volleyball team continued its spring schedule Saturday at the University of Rhode Island Invitational, going 6-2 in a quartet of games played at Keaney Gym.

The set scores were as followed:
UNH 2, Providence 0 (25-17, 25-22)
UNH 2, Sacred Heart 0 (25-18, 25-21)
UNH 0, Rhode Island 2 (24-26, 22-25)
UNH 2, Holy Cross 0 (25-22, 25-23)

Freshman middle blocker Demi Muses (Orangevale, Calif.) registered 18 kills, 14 digs, eight blocks and a .389 hitting percentage on the day. Sophomore defensive specialist Madison Lightfoot (Clarkston, Mich.) scooped up 38 digs to lead the defensive effort. Freshman setter Keelin Severtson (Delray Beach, Fla.) orchestrated the offense with 54 assists. Red shirt freshman outside hitter Maggie Kenney (Merrimack, N.H) notched three aces and logged 14 points.

The Wildcats conclude spring exhibition action on Saturday, April 19 hosting the UNH Invitational. New Hampshire welcomes the University of Hartford, Harvard University, University of Massachusetts Lowell and Bryant University to Lundholm Gymnasium for the tournament. Times of matches are to be announced.
