Forrest and Dunklau Bestowed America East Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore outside hitter Tori Forrest (Powder Springs, Ga.) and junior setter Taylor Dunklau (Mukwonago, Wis.) of the University of New Hampshire volleyball team have been named America East Player of the Week and Setter of the Week, respectively, the league announced Monday.

Forrest powered the Wildcats offense to an undefeated week, going 2-0. The business major earned her fifth and sixth career double-doubles, posting double-digit figures in kills and digs in victories over Harvard and UMass Lowell. Against the Crimson, Forrest registered 14 kills and 18 digs, outlasting Harvard in a five-set victory. Against the River Hawks, Forrest matches her offensive production, tallying 14 kills and accumulating 12 digs in the three-set win. Additionally, the outside hitter posted a .303 hitting percentage in the match. Forrest has now earned a double-double in three consecutive matches. Currently, Forrest ranks second on the squad in kills per set (2.44) and digs per set (2.37).

Dunklau orchestrated the UNH offense, averaging 11.1 assists per set for the week. Against Harvard, Dunklau dished out 51 assists in the come-from-behind win. In the match against the River Hawks, the setter posted her first double-double of the season, dishing out 38 assists and scooping out a season-high 14 digs in a three-set victory. Dunklau leads the Wildcats in passing, averaging 8.83 assists per set. Additionally, the junior has twice eclipsed 50 assists this season, with the 'Cats registering victories in both occasions 

This marks the first time in her career Forrest has been named America East Player of the Week. Dunklau claims her first conference Setter of the Week award this season and fourth in her career. 

New Hampshire (7-10, 1-0 America East) concludes an 11-game road trip this upcoming weekend. The Wildcats continue America East play, taking on Stony Brook on Friday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. UMBC hosts the 'Cats on Sunday, Oct. 6 starting at 1 p.m.
