2013 Schedule

DURHAM, N.H. – Head coach Jill Hirschinger of the University of New Hampshire volleyball team has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2013 season.

New Hampshire will begin its 2013 campaign on Saturday, Aug. 31 at the Lehigh Classic. The Wildcats will take on the hosts in addition to the University of Rhode Island and St. Peter's in the two-day event.

Following the action at Lehigh, UNH will take on nearby Northeastern for an out-of-conference game on Tuesday, September 3.

The Wildcats then open up home action on Friday, September 6 for the annual Holly Young Invitational as they welcome Brown (Sept. 6 – 7:00 p.m.), St. John's (Sept. 7 – 12:30 p.m.) and Missouri State (Sept. 7 – 7:00 p.m.). New Hampshire will play one more home game against Bryant on Tuesday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m. before taking on a season-long 11-game road trip.

UNH will kick off the road trip at College Park, Md. where the Wildcats face off against Maryland, Villanova and George Mason in the Maryland Tournament (Sept. 13-14). New Hampshire will participate in its last tournament back in the Granite State in Hanover, N.H. at the Dartmouth Duel as the 'Cats will take on Connecticut, No. 8 Minnesota, Rhode Island and host Dartmouth.

The Wildcats will conclude their 11-game road trip as they visit Ivy League member Harvard, Division I volleyball newcomer and America East member UMass Lowell as well as conference foes Stony Brook and UMBC.

New Hampshire returns to Lundholm Gymnasium on October 11 as its America East campaign continues against Providence (Oct. 11 – 7:00 p.m.) and Hartford  (Oct. 13 – 1:00 p.m.). Binghamton (Oct. 18) and Albany (Oct. 20), the America East tournament champion and regular season champion respectively will host UNH as the Wildcats take the road again.

UMass Lowell will compete against UNH again, this time at home on Saturday, October 26 at 2:00 p.m. New Hampshire will play in its final two away contests of the season at Hartford and Providence the following weekend. 

UNH will play their final four home games of the regular season as they will compete against UMBC (Nov. 8 – 7:00 p.m.), Stony Brook (Nov. 10 – 7:00 p.m.), Albany (Nov. 15 – 1:00 p.m.) and Binghamton (Nov. 17 – 7:00 p.m.).

The Wildcats will seek to return to the four-team America East tournament scheduled for Nov. 22-23 at the site of the highest seed.

Overall, UNH will play one team in the top ten in the RPI rankings in Minnesota who is ranked sixth nationally. In addition, UNH will play even teams in the top half of the RPI, including two in the top 100 (Missouri State – 94, Maryland – 91).

The Wildcats have won three America East Tournament titles (1998, 2002, 2003) and earned three NCAA appearances in school history, all of which have come under Coach Hirschinger.
