– Senior Emmy Blouin (St. Albert, Alberta) recorded a team-high 15 kills to lead three Wildcats in double figure kills, but it was not enough as the University of New Hampshire volleyball team dropped its second-straight match, 3-1, at Maryland-Baltimore County. The game scores were 30-27, 28-30, 30-32 and 24-30. The Wildcats fall to 11-6 overall, 0-2 in America East play. UMBC improves to 15-4 overall, 2-0 in AE.

UNH captured Game 1 by hitting at a .120 clip with 12 kills. The Retrievers won highly contested Games 2 and 3 by the narrowest of margins, 28-30 and 30-32. In those games, UMBC hit .344 and .282, respectively. The Retrievers closed out the match by taking advantage of UNH’s .018 hitting percentage during Game 4.

In addition to Blouin, sophomore Lindsay Fogarty (Pleasanton, Calif.) notched 14 kills, while her classmate Kirsten Bates (Calgary, Alberta) had 12 kills. Sophomore Kate Uitti (Pinckney, Mich.) recorded a match-best 51 assists, while sophomore libero Alyse Lahti (St. Charles, Ill.) had a team-high 26 defensive digs.

UNH posted 12 kills in Game 1, 15 in Game 2, 18 in Game 3 and 14 in the final game.

The Wildcats continue America East road play as they travel to reigning champion Albany on Friday, October 5 at 7 p.m. UNH’s next home game is on Monday, October 8 against America East foe Maine.
