DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team will host its annual spring tournament on Saturday, April 21st on the top floor of the Hamel Recreation Center beginning at 9:30 a.m.
In addition to UNH, the teams that will participate will be Boston College, University of Connecticut, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, University of Maine, as well as a UNH alumni team.
    UNH opens the day playing Boston College at 9:30 a.m. and they continue play at 10:15 vs. Connecticut, while the 'Cats play intrastate rival Dartmouth at 11 a.m. UNH faces Harvard at 1 p.m. and they continue the action in the afternoon with conference rival Maine at 1:45 and conclude the spring tournament playing the Wildcat alumni team at 2:30 p.m. on Court 2. Each match will be two games to 25 points using the rally scoring point system.
    "The tournament marks the end of the Wildcats off-season training for the spring. This will be an exciting weekend for the program with all the alumni coming back to campus. This is a great opportunity to a see a high level of volleyball in New England. The team has worked extremely hard this spring and we look forward to returning to a championship level in the fall of 2007," said head coach Jill Hirschinger.
    In addition to the NCAA volleyball teams in action, UNH will also have an alumni team competing in the tournament. The former Wildcats that will be playing on Saturday are; current assistant coach Stacy Barnett, Anne Davis, Karen Harrington, Katie Jentes, Lauren Knight, Erin Walker, Jess Whalen (Houle), Erin Ludwig, Natasha Otte, Sasha Scott, Kara Russell (Fitzgerald).
