RENOVATIONS UNDERWAY ON LUNDHOLM GYMNASIUM
The materials for the new bleacher system are delivered on campus (June 6, 2007)
The construction of the new bleacher system at the University of New Hampshire's Lundholm Gymnasium began on Wed., June 6.  The bleachers are the first step towards improving the atmosphere and fan experience in Lundholm Gym. The retractable bleachers will allow athletic teams to compete on the two auxiliary courts underneath, as was the case with the old system.

The original bleachers have been completely disassembled and removed and the equipment and materials for the new bleachers arrived on campus yesterday.

In addition to the bleachers, new baskets will be installed and various parts of the gym will be painted.

Lundholm Gym, which is the home of the Wildcat men's and women's basketball teams, as well as the women's volleyball and women's gymnastics teams, was built in 1966 as part of a $2.6 million addition to the Field House. In 2001-2002, the court was repaired, repainted and resurfaced and a new public address system was installed. The gym was named in memory of Carl Lundholm, who was a student at UNH, a coach and the school's first athletic director from 1940 to 1967.
