DURHAM, N.H.-- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball was defeated by the University of Maine, 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at Lundholm Gymnasium. The game scores were 30-17, 33-31 and 30-28.
Senior captain Erin Walker (Fulton, N.Y.) led the way for the Wildcats once again with a team-high 11 kills in the loss, to go along with a .364 hitting percentage. Sophomore outside hitter Emmy Blouin (St. Albert, Alberta) also had a solid match with 10 kills and a .381 hitting percentage, while junior Sarah Rehn notched (Oceanside, Calif.) nine kills and a team-high 11 digs in the losing effort.
Freshman Lucia Bridova (Bratislava, Slovakia) quarterbacked the 'Cat attack with 33 assists and nine digs. Freshman libero Callie Webster (Mercer Island, Wash.) tallied 10 digs in another strong defensive effort.
The Wildcats posted 18 kills and a .233 hitting percentage in Game 2 and 14 kills and a .205 clip in Game 3.
UNH drops to 6-18 overall (3-6 America East) on the season, while Maine improves to 8-11 and 5-3 in America East action.
The UNH volleyball team returns to action Friday, Nov. 4 at Albany. Match time is 7 p.m.
