HANOVER, N.H. – Senior Sarah Hall (Nottingham, N.H.) submitted a pair of first-place finishes to help lead the University of New Hampshire women’s outdoor track and field team to a second-place finish at the Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Track.

With 127.50 points, the Wildcats finished ahead of Middlebury (84), Vermont (83.50), Tufts (68) and Rensselaer (28), but behind Dartmouth (194).

Hall placed first in the 100 meters in 12.44 seconds, and then ran to a first-place finish in the 200 meters in 25.19 seconds.

Freshman Laura Stern (Shirley, Mass.) submitted a huge performance in the javelin, winning the event with an NCAA Regional-qualifying throw of 43.82 meters.

In the 5000 meters, freshman Keely Maguire (Georgetown, Mass.), sophomore Erica Jesseman (Scarborough, Maine) and junior Courtney Hamer (Andover, Mass.) finished first, second and third, respectively, in times of 18 minutes, 00.47 seconds, 18:11.54 and 18:13.81.

In the 3000-meter steeplechase, senior Elizabeth Morrissey (Mt. Kisco, N.Y.) and Carolyn Durfee (Laconia, N.H.) placed first and second, respectively, in times of 11:25.84 and 11:40.42.

Sophomore Meghan McGrath (Merrimack, N.H.) was second in the long jump with a leap of 5.39 meters.

Sophomore Chelsey Canavan (Stoneham, Mass.) also handed in a second-place performance in the 400 meters, finishing in 59.02 seconds. Freshman Courtney Prescott (Hollis, N.H.) was seventh in 1:00.83.

The Wildcats’ 4x100-meter relay team also finished second in a time of 49.59 seconds.

Sophomore Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) placed third in the 800 meters in a time of 2:14.49. Classmates Catherine Perella (Bedford, N.H.) and Claire Ciabotti (Cornwall, N.Y.) finished eighth and 10th, respectively, in times of 2:17.44 and 2:18.79.

Another sophomore Sydney Fitzpatrick (Billerica, Mass.) finished fourth in the 1500 meters in a time of 4:40.74.

Junior Tayla Ryan (Norwood, Mass.) turned in a pair of fourth-place finishes, completing the 100-meter hurdles in 15.51 seconds and the 400-meter hurdles in 1:06.33.

Back in the field, senior Sarah Crane (Londonderry, N.H.) was fourth in the discus with a throw of 36.42 meters.

Senior Erica Desroches (Stratham, N.H.) placed fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 44.05 meters.

Junior Amanda Hutchins (Plymouth, N.H.) finished fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.93 meters.

Freshman Kim Allen (Townsend, Mass.) placed sixth in the high jump with a leap of 1.55 meters.

The Wildcats return to action Tuesday, April 21 at 2 p.m. when they take on Holy Cross and Rhode Island at Hart Track in Worcester, Mass.
